Teal Crochet Scarf

This is a gift for a friend of mine, it was supposed to be for her birthday but now it is a little late but she saw it in the making and is very excited! :)
As usual I start off with a  pattern and then put my own spin on it. But the main part of the scarf follows this pattern:
